Welcome to the very first edition of Camp Life: The Blog! 2025. The summer has officially begun, and what an amazing first week it’s been across our YMCA Summer Day Camp locations! From water fun and dress-up days to epic field trips and sports challenges, our campers are already making memories that will last a lifetime.
REMINDER: Camp is closed tomorrow, July 4th for the holiday! The fun returns on Monday, July 7th.
YMCA East Hampton RECenter
We kicked off summer with a splash at East Hampton! Campers beat the heat with the Slip n Slide and inflatable water fun, giggled on the playground, and brought their A-game during camper dodgeball. The fun didn’t stop there—our campers brought high energy and big smiles all week long. Whether they were climbing, sliding, or competing, they made every moment count!
Great South Bay YMCA
Energy, excitement, and endless adventure! From Day 1, our Great South Bay campers dove into the summer spirit. With activities like swimming, basketball, the teen lounge, and inflatables, these campers sure know how to have fun. Pre-Teen and Teen campers teed off at Top Golf—hitting balls, swinging clubs, and soaking up those immaculate summer vibes. Over at our ACLD location, campers made the most of a Freestyle Day, spiking volleyballs, dominating Gaga Ball, and showing off awesome teamwork and sportsmanship. What a way to start the season!
Huntington YMCA
Summer fun is officially in session at the Huntington YMCA! Week 1 was filled with laughter, games, and new friendships. This session’s theme—Kindness Rocks—is already in full swing, with campers spreading positivity and collecting canned goods for our camp-wide food drive (running through July 18)!
Our Pre-Teen and Teen campers kicked things off with a trip to Bowlero and later put their minds to the test in a thrilling Escape Room adventure. Campers also showed off their imagination during Superhero Dress-Up Day, where creativity soared and capes flew! We wrapped up the week with a high-energy Rainbow Dance Party and brought Disney magic to camp with Disney Dress-Up Day. From teamwork to twirling, our campers were true stars all week long!
Patchogue Family YMCA
When school's out, Patchogue campers are in for fun! Our Kiddie Campers had an exciting first week packed with art, gym time, swimming, and making new friends. They explored yoga and literacy, and proudly dressed up for Superhero Day! Meanwhile, Pre-Teen and Teen campers had an epic week of trips, heading to Top Golf and Dave & Buster’s for some fun, games, and bonding with new friends. It’s clear—summer has just begun, and these campers are ready for it all!

YMCA at Glen Cove
Glen Cove kicked off summer camp with a bang! Our Teen campers explored, learned, and laughed their way through exciting trips to the science museum and bowling alley. Meanwhile, the sunshine showed up just in time for our Kiddie and Youth campers to enjoy outdoor fun! From swim lessons and sports to navigating the low ropes course, campers soaked up every minute of their first week. Here's to a summer filled with discovery, adventure, and sunshine!
