Final Edition – Week 8
As the sun sets on another unforgettable YMCA Summer Day Camp season, we look back with joy and gratitude at the eight incredible weeks of fun, friendships, and adventure. Our campers made memories that will last a lifetime—and this last week was the perfect way to wrap it all up!
Patchogue Family YMCA
Kiddie campers went all out with festive dress-up days, celebrating the ‘90s, 2000s, and an Aloha Luau to close the summer with a tropical twist. Youth campers joined in with their own theme days from the groovy ‘70s & ‘80s to the colorful ‘90s & 2000s, plus plenty of splash-worthy water games. Pre-teens and teens capped off their summer with exciting trips to Monster Mini Golf and High Velocity Paintball.
Glen Cove YMCA
Kiddie camp kept spirits high with Camp Fitness Day, School Spirit Day, and a scavenger hunt adventure across camp grounds. They ended the week by signing camp T-shirts to remember all their friends! Pre-teens and teens joined the fitness fun and also enjoyed trips to Morgan’s Park, Bellmore Playhouse, and Dave & Buster’s. Meanwhile, Sports Camp finished strong with their World Cup-style competitions, including “Teams of Two: Last Team Standing”—may the best team win!
Great South Bay YMCA
Kiddie and youth campers raced through their annual Color Run and enjoyed an in-house special from PicNick Entertainment, complete with a portable rock wall and games. To top it all off, they ended the week with their much-anticipated Beach Bash celebration! P Teen campers also dove into the Color Run, explored the Montauk Lighthouse, and had the choice between High Velocity Paintball or getting creative at Plaster Kraze.
🎉 Huntington YMCA
Huntington wrapped up camp in style with their End of Summer Party! Pre-Teen and Teen campers enjoyed trips to Top Golf, the Board Game Café, and bowling before closing out the season with their own End of Summer Bash. Sports Campers kept the competition alive with Swim & Waterslide Day, Wear Your Favorite Jersey Day, and their action-packed Tournament Day.
From colorful theme days and adventurous trips to beach bashes and camp traditions, this final week was the perfect way to celebrate another successful YMCA Summer Day Camp season.
