Where has the summer gone?! It’s hard to believe we’ve already reached Week 7 of YMCA Summer Day Camp and are heading into our second-to-last week of summer fun! While some of our campers still have another week of adventures ahead, our YMCA East Hampton RECenter Summer Day Camp is wrapping up its final week. From colorful camp activities to exciting field trips and friendly competitions, our campers are certainly making every moment count!
It was a bittersweet week in East Hampton as our campers celebrated their final week of summer camp!
Our Kiddie and Youth Campers filled their days with creativity, adventure, and plenty of smiles. Campers enjoyed face painting, Wellness by Nature, rock climbing, and arts and crafts—the perfect combination of imagination, movement, and summer fun.
Our Pre-Teen and Teen Campers ended last week with some unforgettable trips. Their adventures included the Aquarium, Escape Zone, and Scott’s Pointe, a family-friendly recreation center packed with activities like surf rides, axe throwing, mini golf, laser tag, climbing walls, and simulator golf.
What a way to close out an incredible summer in East Hampton! Thank you to our campers, counselors, and families for making this camp season so special.
Our Patchogue Family YMCA campers had a colorful—and competitive—Week 7!
Our Kiddie Campers celebrated Color Week, dressing in a different color of the rainbow throughout the week. From pink and red to orange and green, our campground was bursting with color!
Our Youth Campers jumped into Spirit Week with Poké Battles, Color Battles, the Tic Tac Toe Game Show, and other challenges that put their strategy, teamwork, and luck to the test.
One of the biggest adventures was our Pokémon Scavenger Hunt! Using clues, campers raced around the campground to find all six hidden Pokémon and fill their Pokédexes. The winning groups received special Pokémon-themed prizes during our Closing Ceremony. Congratulations to all our winners! 🏆
But the excitement didn’t stop there—Team Rocket took over camp! During our Poké Battles, campers faced a series of “Minute to Win It” challenges to rescue their Pokémon from the evil Team Rocket. Our campers rose to the challenge and showed that teamwork can save the day!
Our Pre-Teen and Teen Campers also hit the road for some awesome trips, including bowling, Gr8 Skates, and an adventure ropes park.
And who said camp is just for kids? After the campers headed home, our counselors stayed for some friendly competition of their own! They took on a variety of camp games to see who would earn the title of Ultimate Camp Counselor. Our staff spend every day creating amazing memories for our campers, so it was great to see them have a little camp fun, too!
The fun continued at Huntington Summer Day Camp, where campers spent the week learning, exploring, creating, and showing off their camp spirit!
Our Kiddie and Youth Campers had the opportunity to dress as a famous leader for Dress-Up Day, bringing history and imagination together in true camp style. They also got to channel their inner musicians during our Rock Star 101 activity.
Our Youth Campers had a special opportunity to learn more about the community around them with the Huntington Historical Society, discovering some of the people, places, and stories that make the Town of Huntington unique.
Our Pre-Teen and Teen Campers kept the adventures going with another exciting round of trips. Campers visited Jump Town, the Huntington Historical Society, Dave & Buster’s, and Graft Labs, giving them plenty of opportunities to explore, learn, play, and spend time with their camp friends.
The summer fun was going strong at our YMCA at Glen Cove Summer Day Camp during Week 7!
Our Kiddie and Youth Campers enjoyed an action-packed week filled with special activities and plenty of camp spirit. Campers cooled off with an exciting water balloon battle, showed off their superpowers for Superhero Day, and teamed up with their camp besties for Twin Day!
Campers also celebrated the YMCA Glen Cove Hall of Fame, recognizing some of the people and moments that have helped make this summer at camp extra special.
Our Sports Campers kicked it into high gear this week as they focused on building their soccer skills! Campers practiced their dribbling with lessons and a challenging dribbling obstacle course, worked on their shooting technique, and put their skills to the test in a shooting accuracy competition. They wrapped up their soccer activities by bringing everything they learned together in a fun and competitive soccer game!
Our Pre-Teen and Teen Campers took their adventures beyond camp with trips to Topgolf and Morgan Park, where they enjoyed spending time with friends and making even more summer memories.
Our Teen Campers added another exciting trip to their week with a visit to Rye Playland, enjoying a day filled with rides, thrills, and fun!
Week 7 was packed with magic, meaningful moments, exciting adventures, and plenty of camp spirit at our Great South Bay YMCA Summer Day Camp!
Our Kiddie Campers were treated to an exciting in-house special featuring Extreme Magic! ✨ They also showed off their camp spirit with some special dress-up days, including YMCA Core Values Day and P.S. I Love You Day, when campers filled camp with pink, purple, and red in support of kindness, love, and positivity. 💗
The fun continued with some extra-special camp events! Campers laced up their sneakers for a colorful Color Run and gathered with their camp families for Family Movie Night Under the Stars—a perfect way to spend a summer evening together! 🎬⭐
Our Pre-Teen and Teen Campers had the chance to choose their own adventure this week with a Camper’s Choice trip to either WildPlay at Jones Beach or Laser Bounce! They also visited the Deer Park Outlets and movie theater and joined in the fun at Family Movie Night Under the Stars.
